Installing the FS-500-BL
Installation Instructions:
Note: Read all instructions thoroughly prior to starting installation.
Step 1
Step 1: Remove cartridge filter cap and filter using 1 1/16" hex socket. Clean exposed surfaces of cartridge receiver.
Step 2
Test fit - install adapter until fully seated. Determine which port will be utilized for the Schrader valve. Remove adapter.
Step 3
Apply sealant tape (not included) to hex plugs and install in unused ports using 3/16" hex wrench.Caution: Apply to threads only, not over end of plug.
Step 4
Install body O-ring and lubricate with engine oil.
Step 5
Install 90-degree fitting with sealant tape (if using) and Schrader valve.
Step 6
Install adapter using 1" deep socket, torque to 40 ft.lbs.
Step 7
Install spin-on oil filter that contains 22x1.5mm threads (recommend FL-500 S or equivelant) run engine to temperature and check for leaks.
Serving Instructions
- Remove oil filler cap on engine.
- Remove Schrader valve cap on adapter.
- Using air chuck, apply 100 psi dry compressed air to Schrader valve for 4-5 seconds.
- Wait 30 seconds and apply 100 psi dry compressed air for another 3 seconds.
- Remove oil filter.
